Clemency for Jerry V.: Served 28yrs of his 55yr to life combined federal & state sentences for nonviolent drug crime

My dad was sentenced consecutively to 25yrs to life in the state and 30yrs in federal prison for narcotic related crimes. He has served 28 of the 55yrs. Ive created this petition in hopes of a Presidential pardon because serving nearly half his life, for a nonviolent crime makes him deserving of a second chance at life. If that is not enough his prison record to date is filled with 100 and counting certificates of merit and awards including those recognizing his efforts in assisting vision-impaired and hearing-impaired inmates. He has actively participated in and eventually organized and led, programs designed to assist other inmates and their families. At 61yrsold with the support of his loving family he is ready to spend what’s left of his life positively contributing to his community.
