My name is Estrella Palma I am the daughter of Eva Atencio Palma #21868-051 and Edward Atencio #21867-051, who have currently served over 13 years since 2004 of a sentence of life without parole for a nonviolent drug crime.I am one of three kids that have been raised without a parent for over a decade.I was only 5 years old when my parents were arrested.It is hard for me to understand that my parents received a sentence, that basically amounts to the death penalty.
Since my parents have been in prison they have been model inmates, bettering their lives and other inmates with them.Despite the fact that they may never be released again,they have continued to stay positive and not give up.I am so afraid that if President Obama does not let my parents out,they will never get out.
