In response to the recent Navy SEAL/Green Beret training exercise, Texas Governor Abbott sent the Texas State Guard to monitor the exercise out of apparent concern for the "safety, constitutional rights, private property rights and civil liberties" of Texans caused by a federal takeover and imposition of martial law. Out of respect for the concerns of Texas citizens and their governor about the role of the US military in carrying out these actions, we hereby ask the Commander-in-Chief to cease all military training operations in Texas, close all federal military bases in the state and transfer those soldiers to bases in other states, creating new bases if necessary so that the good citizens of Texas will not have to worry anymore.
