Change the overall direction of US foreign policy toward a noninterventionist and neutral stance, declining to enter alliances with other powers even if requested by them, and withdrawing from existing alliances with foreign powers. My petition also calls for the withdrawal of all US military forces stationed overseas and the closure of all foreign military bases. The United States should not seek to maintain military supremacy nor compete for global dominion, and should rather maintain a small and defensive military, focusing its energies toward internal economic development and self-strengthening. I petition the Obama administration to stand up to the military-industrial complex and reorient US defense policy to be compatible with a more humble, unobtrusive foreign policy.
