Close down Guantanamo Bay and require all accused terrorists that are detained to be tried in civilian courts.

After the leak of an unclassified 600 out of a 6000 page document revealing evidence of waterboarding and other torture methods used by the CIA, it is time that Guantanamo Bay is finally shut down for good. Also, we demand that all currently detained terror suspects face a civilian trial. The last civilian trial of an accused terrorist was of Ahmed Ghailani, who was acquitted of 284 counts of terror related charges. After that, no other trials have occurred. Putting accused terror suspects in a civilian court would allow them to exercise their 5th Amendment right of preventing self-incrimination and their 6th Amendment rights to challenge any witnesses testifying against them, calling witnesses in their favor, a speedy and public trial, and the right to an attorney.
