"We the People" has become a focal point for any interest group that can round up a few thousand people to sign a petition, no matter how ludicrous or outrageous the topic is.
This has included everything from petitions to allow states to secede, to petitions demanding states secede, to petitions demanding journalists be thrown out of the country.
The White House has repeatedly raised the bar for number of signatures required to get official response from the President, to the point that now responses are not forthcoming even when some of the absurd petitions garner several times the minimum threshold promising a response.
This nation faces many serious issues that will influence its future viability. Wasting time on these useless petitions is not helping.
Shut the petition site down.
