Close the Federal Government on the day after Thanksgiving instead of Columbus Day.

Columbus Day is a federal holiday that is not widely celebrated and not observed by most private sector employees. In contrast, the day after Thankgiving is a common paid holiday for private sector employees and a day when citizens spend time with family. This would allow a four day weekend for non-essential Government Employees at no additional cost to the Federal Government. The day after Thankgiving is a day when many if not most Federal Government employees take leave which makes it difficult to staff. It is also a very slow day for Government Services so from a productivity standpoint it costs more to open the Government on this day compared to output than other days of the year. This will take an act of Congress but surely Republicans and Democrats can agree on this issue
