since 2002 Guantanamo Bay (more commonly called GITMO) has held thousand of inmates in its brig with out the protection of the law. In Hamdan vs. Rumsfeld the Supreme Court ruled that these inmates are protected by the Geneva Convention and that the camp should be closed. Inmates have been raped,tortured,forced to starve, not given water, and held in primitive cells. Obama and the US Congress need to live up to the pledge made in 2008 by both Bush and Obama GITMO needs to be closed and given back to Cuba. sign the petition and tell Obama the time is now CLOSE GITMO and deport the inmates.
