"Close Guantanamo and restore Habeus Corpus"....Instead we get the NDAA bill. Did you forget your June 19th, 07 speech?

Created by B.D. on December 15, 2011

Hold the President to promises he made in a previous speech. Seems as though he was just telling America what he thought they wanted to hear at the time. All infamous leaders have gained power in that way.
A direct quote from his June 19th speech is
"It's time for us to close Guantanamo and restore the right of habeas corpus. It's time to show the world that we are not a country that ships prisoners in the dead of night to be tortured in far off countries. That we are not a country that runs prisons which lock people away without ever telling them why they are there or what they are charged with."

This latest assault on the Constitution, the NDAA bill will allow the Executive branch to have unprecedented power to bypass due process and send people to military custody with no oversight
