Guantanamo Bay is a blatant violation of American democracy! The United States cannot be the leader of the free world while it detains suspected terrorists indefinitely in a foreign base and subjects them to unimaginably gruesome torture techniques. While these terrorists cannot be released, they also cannot be tried because they have been tortured into confessing. Instead, they should be sent to prisons within the United States or be returned to their countries of origin. This petition is urgent because Donald Trump's call for torture on American prisoners means that he will keep it open and use it for years to come. In fact, he has already promised to fill Guantanamo with "some bad dudes". We cannot let Trump have the Guantanamo Bay prison at his disposal.
