Close Guantanamo Bay and End the Hunger Strikes

Created by E.N. on April 26, 2013

As of this April, 94 of the 166 prisoners being held at Guantanamo Bay are participating in a hunger strike to protest their indefinite confinement, without being charged with a crime, and without any hope of a fair trial.

The conditions they live in are deplorable; they are tied down to their beds and force-fed through invasive tubes in their stomachs. The prisoners are degraded and beaten if they do not comply with this brutal method of being kept alive, and on a daily basis have their dignity and humanity stripped away.

It is time that President Obama kept his promise to close Guantanamo Bay, and ended the suffering and inhumane treatment of these prisoners. Please ask our President to show that, as we teach our children, Americans truly believe in liberty and justice for all.
