Please keep your word to the American people and permanently close the detention center at Guantanamo Bay. It is time to act decisively to bring an end to the dark chapter of our nation's history that this facility represents. Detainees being housed therein, facing legitimate charges, should be transferred to appropriate stateside facilities to stand trial in federal criminal court. If no charge is filed against a prisoner, that person must be freed without delay.
Additionally, we ask that a congressional review be performed of past and present actions taken by the CIA and related agencies in regards to extraordinary rendition, where there has resulted from such actions, violations of U.S. and/or international law regarding due process or the use of torture.
