Guantanamo Bay breaks founding principals of our nation and weighs heavy on our collective conscience. The people of the US, over the past century, strove to expand freedoms to every person in the nation and our ideals to every corner of this world. Actions by this administration and its predecessor have undercut these ideals.
The detainees are of wars that the US is leaving or has left. Their use as information sources was questionable during active fighting. Furthermore, they have been out of contact with anyone for years. What intelligence can we gain from them now?
