Guantanamo Bay is a decade long abomination and affront to the ideals of every American. Torture and imprisonment without warrant, evidence or trial are not American values. Its very existence denigrates and insults the foundation of the United States.
That 86 prisoners have been deemed innocent by the US of any act or link to terrorist groups but are not released because it would be politically inopportune to release them is horrifying and unacceptable. Release them now.
Any consequences we will suffer are mitigated by surveillance, and pale in comparison to the devastation to justice, fairness and liberty suffered by the very nature of this imprisonment.
As for the remaining, close this American gulag, return them to the US civilian jails and give them a fair trial, or release them.
