Since the Guantanamo Bay interrogation facility was established in 2002, it has become a national symbol of U.S. hypocrisy and disregard for human rights.
More than 150 men are still held at Guantánamo, most are held on the flimsiest of evidence, and have no options for a trial. Many have claimed they were subjected to torture and other ill-treatment in U.S. custody.
We ask that the Obama administration fight to amend the 2011 Defense Authorization Act to enable the transfer of prisoners from Guantanamo to enable the immediate closure of the facility.
