Close the "Halliburton loophole," in the Federal Energy Policy Act of 2005, stopping corporations from Fracking our home

Created by M.H. on March 06, 2013

The federal Energy Act of 2005 exempted oil and gas corporations from the 1974 Safe Drinking Water Act. This opened the flood gates for a national fracking boom, where corporations can hollow out our environmental and agricultural soul for greater profit margins. Every second this exemption is maintained, these activities release poisonous chemicals into our water, land, farms, food supply, air, and bodies, remaining there for generations to come, with indeterminable consequences. While this was all accomplished under the Oil President, is this administration bold enough to act quickly to ensure that our national health and resources are preserved for future generations?
