The current military budget is over ten times the combined bugets of the following fourteen developed countries:
China, Britain, France, Russia, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Germany, India, Italy, Brazil, South Korea, Austrailia, Canada, and Turkey.
We would like the government to close at least 75% of our overseas bases as a start to reduce the inflated military budget.
Currently, the miltary spending works on a use it or lose it policy. This leads to wasted tax payer money.
We would like the government to monitor its purchases by assigning responsibility to higher ranking officers to sign off on every expense and make said officers accountable to congress and the American people.
Currently the higher ranking officers do have this responsibilty, but they are not held accountable.
