Close loopholes that let banks & businesses profit by keeping storefronts & homes vacant. Penalize stagnant properties.

Created by K.F. on January 23, 2012

Home and storefront rents are kept artificially high while businesses use the "unearned rent" (and other tricks) as write offs. The rich and corporations are able to buy up America cheap and sit on the land while insisting on leases that are well beyond market costs.

End tax and business loopholes that encourage this practice. End write offs for stagnant property parcels. Strongly penalize banks and commercial entities with empty properties to encourage them to lower prices (sale and rent) to actual market prices or face even greater losses.

This will create REAL jobs by allowing 100s of small businesses to enter the market, will curb urban blight, curb crime based on blight and afford Americans a stable and recovering real estate market. This will also encourage banks to make loans.
