Senator Graham from South Carolina has noted that the Federal Budget needs to be balanced by making cuts to existing expenditures. He has said that we all need to sacrifice. The Marine Corps does not need two Recruit Depots. Closure of one of the Depots was considered by the Base Realignment and Closure Committee in 2005. But, action was not taken. In the spirit of Senator Graham's call to cut the Federal Budget, we propose to eliminate the unnecessary second Marine Corps Recruit Depot at Parris Island, South Carolina.
