Close or reorganize the Unconstitutional Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships.

While recognizing that churches have played an important part in the nation since its founding and that some continue to do good works, we argue that federal funding for this office is unconstitutional, as it betrays the separation of church and state demanded in the First Amendment. We call on the president to stop funding religious organizations through this office. The office can be reorganized to support non-religious organizations without sacrificing its mission to promote needed services through the executive branch.
