Close the postal service.

It is simply loosing money and companies such as fed-ex and ups would gain customers which would increase their revenue. This would help grow private companies and when they grow they create jobs. This creation of jobs in the private sector would counter act the loss of jobs by shutting down the postal service. If the government wants to continue to have a postal service the need to do something so it does not continue to loose money or let successful private companies take over.
