Close the revolving door between Regulatory Agencies and the Industries they regulate

Created by M.R. on June 06, 2014

For too long have regulatory agencies been run by people who are from the industries that they regulate. This perverse relationship leads to massive conflicts of interest for the regulatory agencies.

If you would not let a criminal be their own prosecutor then you should not let the industry be their own regulator.

This has lead to the SEC allowing bankers off the hook for the massive fraud of the financial crisis with almost no criminal prosecutions and only a few admissions of wrong doing.

This has lead to the FCC being lead by a lobbyist who is intent on killing net neutrality.

Pass a law that prevents people with obvious conflicts of interest being employed by a regulatory agency and afterward clean house to remove everyone who has obvious conflicts of interest.
