The government should respect each religion by closing schools on important holidays, just as we do for Christmas and Easter.
Not doing so shows favoritism, which is against the law. Church and state must be divided in order to maintain a strong central government, but if we celebrate these holidays, then why not celebrate others?
I do not believe it's fair for a student to be absent from school in order to fulfill their religious holidays and miss loads of school work.
This would also promote religious awareness. People will then understand why different holidays are celebrated and how they are celebrated.
