Close any overseas military installations that we don't need such as bases and posts in Germany, Australia, and Japan. The money spent on these types of installations could be used to build our defenses in our own nation, or could bd used for mental health for military members, or a number of more sensible uses. It would save a lot of money and help to "balance the budget". There's less need for these "quick reaction forces" to be spread across the globe when we could focus on rapid deployments like those utilized by special operations units. Another advantage gained by closing these installations is that our defenses at home are much larger and it allows more experienced combat troops to be stationed stateside in the event our forces are ever needed on our own soil.
