Close the Tidal Basin to passenger vehicles during weekends in April and establish bus service from RFK stadium

The extremely high volume of pedestrian traffic mixed with the number of passenger cars searching for parking and buses dropping off groups on the roads surrounding the Tidal Basin and East Potomac Park poses a serious threat to public safety for both DC residents and the thousands of tourists visiting the nation's capitol during cherry blossom season.
We are asking the National Park Service to improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety by closing the roads around the tidal basin and Potomac Park to private passenger vehicles, allowing only buses, bicycles, and pedestrians.
NPS should make an arrangement with WMATA or a motor coach operator to provide a dedicated shuttle bus from a separate parking site such as RFK stadium.
