Close the United States Post Office

The USPS is a wasteful inefficient entity that continuously costs the American taxpayers money. Private companies have proven time and time again that they can provide postal service without government subsidy and in a more timely fashion. Most mail is junk mail or bills which can and are sent electronically anyway. The post office already utilizes FedEx to assist in some parcel delivery. The USPS had a good run but it is time to modernize and trim the fat. Not only will elimination of this wasteful organization save money but it will also increase the volume for private carriers allowing them to decrease their costs and pass on the savings to the consumer. This will increase the revenue of these companies and in turn increase the taxes generated helping chip away at the deficit.
