Started in 1946 as the US Army School of the Americas (SOA), WHINSEC has attempted to educate people in counterintelligence techniques and other related topics. The problem is, graduates of WHINSEC and the SOA have used this knowledge to commit atrocities, such as the murdering of six Jesuit priests, their housekeeper, and her daughter, on November 16, 1989 in El Salvador, for the sole reason that what they stood for (love and compassion for all regardless of status) was not what the government of El Salvador stood for. The United States does not need to be endorsing these kinds of actions, much less enabling the perpetrators of these crimes. WHINSEC, currently located in Ft. Bennings, GA, needs to be closed to stop the US and taxpayer-sponsored training of potential future assassins.
