Columbus Day should not be recognized as a holiday, just as we would not recognize Hitler or Stalin for their genocides of massive proportions, we should not recognize Columbus for his hand in the massive Native American genocide that took place as a result of his accidentally finding the continents of North and South America. He should not be recognized or observed in schools as a hero on any level, but should be recognized as a person who propagated great ignorance, and falsehoods of a noble group of people called the Native Americans.
