In recent years, there has been a growing movement that seeks to undermine and vilify important vaccinations. Measles outbreaks are becoming increasingly common throughout North America because of slipping vaccination rates. We are falling below the critical herd-immunity threshold for multiple diseases, and it's only a matter of time before our country sees another terrible epidemic.
It is the duty of our government to protect its citizens from this easily-preventable danger. I petition the Obama administration to officially recognize and challenge the anti-vaccine movement. Please conscript popular scientists such as Michio Kaku and Neil Degrasse Tyson to speak out and inform the public of the truth about vaccines. This issue must be dealt with before it's too late.
