Combine Veteran's Day and Election Day and making it a National Holiday.

Created by C.B. on November 11, 2013

What better way to show appreciation for veterans than by honoring them on election day? They served our country so that we may have free and open elections. They have died so that we may have a democracy.

Secondly, election day should be a national holiday so that every person has the ability to vote. Currently we are at the mercy of our careers and having to rush either before or after work to hopefully make it to the polls. There are some who because of how far they have to travel, or because of how they have to travel can not make it in time. Election Day should be an event larger than the super bowl.

Imagine a day filled with parades. Honoring those who've protected us, winding through the streets inviting people to walk alongside, and finishing at the local polling place.
