come up with legislation to provide all public candidates equal air time when running for public office.

Created by D.D. on September 22, 2011

We've had far too many elections where qualified candidates have been edged out of public elections because they lack funding to purchase airtime within media outlets. This gives an unfair advantage to those who do not wish to sell their authority to special interests, and are thereby married to a political career in which they are obligated to vote on or pass legislation to serve not the public, but the wealthy. We would like to see a limit placed on campaign spending across the board, and give equal airtime to all candidates in order to remove special interests and media conglomerates from dominating elections for public office. A person who wishes to serve the public should be granted their duty based on their platform, not their pocketbooks. Bring public service back to the public.
