As a veteran, father and husband, I have never felt more of a need to protect myself and my family from those in this world that, for whatever reason, seek to harm others. This RIGHT to defense should not be limited to the home but extended into the public realm. If a crime is committed, we call authorities with guns so why not have a gun to prevent the crime from happening?
