Whereas Warren Anderson has been declared a fugitive from justice since February 1, 1992 and has been wanted by the Indian government since July 31, 2009;
Whereas these offenses are considered indictable under the US-India extradition treaty under articles 1 and 2;
Whereas this offense is not covered under the exemptions in articles 4 through 7;
Whereas the arrest warrant has been received per articles 9 through 11; and
Whereas evidence exists to provide a probable cause that the former Union Carbide Company engaged in negligent homicide and other charges: Now, therefore, be it
Resolved, that the Department of Justice be directed to begin extradition proceedings against Warren M. Anderson, former CEO of the Union Carbide Company on these charges as soon as is physically possible.
