In this country, we have memorials for Presidents, important figures in our history, and for the soldiers that have fought in various wars. But we do not have an official National Memorial to the over 600,000 Americans who died in America's bloodiest war. The Civil War is one of the most important wars in our nation's history, as our country was divided and in the end, brought back together. We must honor those who fought and lost their lives in the war while also showing the brutality of a nation divided and ravaged by war.
