Herein is a proposal for a thorough, cross-discipline study into the possible cause and factors that lead to school shootings.
The goal of this study will remove a dependence on the hot-button topics of gun control and bullying, and will instead obtain a more comprehensive picture of the attackers, their victims, and the school environment.
This study shall search for solutions across many platforms, assessing the impact of gun control, adolescent psychology (with a focus on adolescent social structures), adolescent physiology (with a focus on brain physiology), the financial situation of those involved in the shootings, and other factors that may contribute.
This study will also follow subjects after the shooting event in which they were involved
