Right now, too few school districts make preemptive strikes against bullying, but just think of the impact a general assembly 2 times a year, where all grades come together and raise awareness to bullying, could have on an larger scale. State's have control over this, but choose not to make it mandatory and that is why we needs it to be handled at a federal level. There needs to be an awareness assembly where cold hard facts, videos and special speaker's are thrown at every student twice a year. Why twice? consistency!! What is taught at the beginning of the year, is seldom practiced throughout the year. There also needs to be a committee of students committed to take on bullies as a group. This group can be open to both bully's and the bullied.
