We know more about outer space than we do about the deepest areas of our oceans, or even the depths beyond about 300 feet. Overcoming the technical barriers of exploration of these areas will drive development of materials and products similar to what the space program has in the past. It has the potential to lead to revolutionary discoveries in biology, physics and energy resources.
