Commission prominent American artist Elizabeth Peyton to paint President Obama's official portrait.

Created by M.G. on April 15, 2013

As a result of President Bush's portrait unveiling, the time has come for the White House to begin commissioning contemporary American artists to paint the Presidential portraits and move away from the dated, 19th Century aristocratic feel of the current selection. Contemporary times call for contemporary art, and President Obama should set the precedent for the America aesthetic moving forward.
