Our sons and daughters for the last 2 decades have known nothing but the violence and horror that is an everlasting war with no end in sight. Mr. President you stood against the gulf war - a war that had clear right and wrong but still had ambiguous cause to commit to a war of aggression. This is no different. The case can be made that our boys and girls in uniform, and those of us who have served, are tired of bleeding for foreign countries who neither want us there nor appreciate the price we have paid.
Worse still, with verifiable atrocities committed by both sides, we cannot ensure our taxpayer dollars would be used in the best interests of the humble electorate which should have a say in this matter. We humbly petition you to let us sit this one out sir.
