It is essential to let all of the Bush Tax Cut legislation to expire in total with no exceptions whatsoever. The intent being to force an open, transparent examination of what special interests were best served by that legislation and to then formulate tax policy that best serves our economic needs today, in light of the state of the economy today, not as it was perceived to be in 2001 and 2003.
