We need common ground between gun advocates and people who want to ban them. I propose that we only limit high-capacity magazines (Max capacity:15) and institute an Assault Weapons License, that is available at age 18. The process for the License including mental screening and demonstration of proper handling and firing skills. Any existing Assault Weapon owners, should not have to update and get a License (unless still making payments on the firearm, then it isn't completely in their ownership and should get the license.) Finally we should create larger government-funded gun safety courses, for children and teenagers. Remember that criminals don't follow laws, so what good is it going to do to ban any firearm completely?
