compel Apple to continue offering an "iPod Classic" option.

Created by A.D. on September 09, 2014

With today's announcement of the iPhone 6 and the Apple Watch, Apple has created some terrific technology. However, they have killed a workhorse, without fanfare, in the iPod Classic.

The iPod Classic is the last holdover of the so-called "click wheel" line, the only throwback to the original iPod of 2001. At its largest today, it holds 160Gb of music, and is a very rugged player. For many of us, that's what we wanted - a music player to hold all our music. As of today, Apple no longer offers that as an option.

I know this seems like a frivolous petition, but it is in defense of older technology, which may be more attractively priced for adoption by those who cannot afford these new, fancy, fragile devices, and of an economic class who cannot afford this churn of smartphones.
