Compel the FAA to allow aircraft pilots to substitute a valid Driver License for the Third Class Medical Certificate

Created by G.K. on February 17, 2013

The FAA currently requires frequent draconian medical examinations for all private pilots. There is little if any correlation between passing a Third Class Medical and aviation safety. This forces private pilots to actually neglect their health in order to avoid reporting any medical issues which might restrict their flying privileges. If the FAA was in charge of motor vehicles they would require reporting of any and all medical issues as they do for private pilots. The Third Class Medical can't be used for commercial pilot certification and therefore this is a private pilot issue only. Lets get the US Government off our backs and give us some freedom to fly without neglecting our health or allowing the government to look over our shoulders every time we visit a doctor.
