Google Reader has a extremely loyal user base. Compared to other Google applications, its audience is small but by no means unmotivated.
Google should recognize that it needs to keep and develop its existing user base, rather than discard and alienate users who stay for the Reader application and will not necessarily stay for Google Glass, or other products still in development.
This petition asks the Obama administration to compel Google to continue to support and develop small but sturdy applications like Google Reader.
