June 26, 2013 hailed a new chapter in the civil rights movement for many gay and lesbian Americans. in 13 States, same-sex marriages now receive the same recognition heterosexual marriages do. However, the IRS has had a breakdown in communication with Americans and American employers with regards to changing tax statuses on payrolls. It can cost an individual several hundred dollars extra in taxes each month - an economic burden. The IRS.gov statement,

"We are reviewing the important June 26 Supreme Court decision on the Defense of Marriage Act. We will be working with the Department of Treasury and Department of Justice, and we will move swiftly to provide revised guidance in the near future."

is not enough. We want swift action for full legitimacy.
