The US government should compel all product and service providers to prominently display the final transaction price before reaching the checkout, including all taxes and fees. Similar legislation has been passed for the airline industry and should be expanded to include all goods and services sold in the United States.
Have you ever bought something that said 99 cents? How often do you ever pay 99 cents? Better yet, go to your wireless providers website and try to figure out what your final bill will cost after one month. You'll never find it. It is time to stop playing games and force retailers to show the final prices directly on the product or service. In today's economy some people can simply not afford surprise fees.
