On Monday, January 7, 2013 government regulators announced that Bank of America was among one of the banks that agreed to give 2009 and 2010 foreclosure victims $3.3 billion in direct payments and $5.2 billion for loan modifications and other assistance. In 2007 my home was foreclosed on by Countrywide. I begged them for a loan modification but they led me on and finally took my home. I received a little over $100 as compensation! Where is the help for us whose homes were taken when this crisis was just beginning? With so many vacant bank owned homes tormenting me everyday, why can't I have one of those? The American Dream has turned into an interminable nightmare for me. I demand justice for all whom have been through unimaginable stress due to involuntary and illegal homelessness!
