In our current state of uncertainty and an ever expanding turmoil throughout the world; now more than ever , the American public needs reassurance that candidates have not only the fortitude to lead our great country , but also the mental capacity. It is for this reason that laws should be enacted to protect every citizen from the actions of unstable individuals from ever holding the highest and most honorable office of our land. For this reason, Congress should enact a law that would provide a mandatory mental competency hearing for all persons nominated for the office of president.
