complete the conversion to the Metric standard in order to make the US more competitive internationally.

Created by A.B. on June 28, 2013

The only remaining non-metric countries in the world are the United States, Liberia, and Myanmar (Burma).

This is a jobs issue; for competitive reasons and to end our international embarrassment the US Government must push the nation to use the Metric System in our daily lives.

The President should issue orders requiring all weights and measures described by or submitted to the US government must be quoted in Metric exclusively within 2 years and only metric products can be purchased by government.

The Congress of 1866 legalized the use of the metric system, The Metric Conversion Act (1975) made metric the preferred system of weights and measures for United States trade and commerce.

It is time for the Executive Branch to provide leadership and move the US into the modern Metric world.
