Delaware North, the company that has been entrusted with running Yosemite claims the name Yosemite National Park for commercial purposes as well as icons like Curry Village, The Ahwahnee Hotel, Badger Pass Ski Area, Wawona Hotel and Yosemite Lodge. This is a shameful act from a shameless company. Companies in the public trust should have it in their DNA to be a public trust. This company is attempting to extort money from the federal trust by withholding information. It should therefore be removed from all federal contracts.
Future companies for all government trusts should be forced to have in their by-laws the statement that they will not attempt to exploit their trust with intellectual property or naming rights involved in the trust beyond the disillusionment of the trust.
